Some research ideas on GIS applications in hydro power plants

Hydro-power is proposed to be one of the most probable renewable energy source which have the potential to replace the use of fossil fuels.Optimal management of hydro power plants are important for maximum utilization of available resources. Geographical Information System(GIS) on the other hand is utilized as a tool which can help in managing any system in the most desirable manner. If GIS is used to manage hydro power plant then maximization of utilization of the power potential can be possible in a cost-efficient manner. The ideas below is an example for doing research in this scope of study.Anyone interested to do research in this aspect can use the following ideas already published in Baipatra.

Idea 1: Development of indicator based real time pen stock condition monitoring system by the application of GIS and Cognitive tools

Idea 2: Development of a Spatial Predictive Model for Estimation of Flow Rate in Penstock Networks

Beside these ideas their are various scope of research mainly in the field of watershed management keeping in view of hydro power generation, flood frequency analysis,hydro-power simulations and fish habitat analysis for minimization of impact on the fish harboring path.

Happy researching.

Five ideas to open startups in water filter industry

Below are five innovative startup ideas related to water filters: 1. Develop an app or device that can monitor the water filter candles and provide notifications to the user when maintenance or replacement is required. This could help homeowners keep track of the health of their water filter and ensure that it's functioning optimally at all times. 2. Create an in-situ water quality monitoring device and app for home water filters. This device would provide users with real-time information about the quality of their water and identify any potential issues that need to be addressed. This could be especially helpful for homeowners who rely on well water or live in areas with poor water quality. 3. Reuse wastewater from reverse osmosis filters by channeling it through a gravity filter. This would allow homeowners to save money on their water bills and reduce their environmental footprint by reusing water that would otherwise go to waste. 4. Design an in-situ energy monitoring device ...

Five Models Traditionally Used For Electrical Load Predictions : Issue 1 of WENexus Letters

Load forecasting is a technique used by power companies to predict the power or energy needed to balance the supply and load demand at all times. A load model is a mathematical representation of the relation between the demand and supply of power to a system, specifically, power generating units like thermal or hydropower plant. Based on the forecasted load, the mechanism to generate power is adjusted. This way power plant conserves the fuel used in power generation and also minimize the cost of running the plant(i.e., operational cost). This edition of WENexus Letters is dedicated to 'load prediction models' which are extremely important for sustaining the profitability of any type of power plant.
