  We have compiled a list of the 10 most recent calls for papers for publication in special issues of different water and sanitation journals. Despite the importance of water and sanitation, there are still significant global challenges and disparities in access to clean water and sanitation facilities. According to the World Health Organization, around 2.2 billion people worldwide lack access to safely managed drinking water services, while 4.2 billion people do not have access to safely managed sanitation services. These disparities are particularly prevalent in low-income countries and marginalized communities, where inadequate infrastructure, limited resources, and poor governance contribute to the lack of access. As a result, millions of people are at risk of waterborne diseases and preventable deaths.
