WASH Capacity Building Expert (Technical) – Urban Practitioners’ Programme (UPP) The Urban Practitioners' Programme (UPP) is a training and capacity-building programme for urban practitioners from the public, private, academic, and civil society sectors. The IIHS believes that a city's transformation is largely dependent on the collaborative efforts of practitioners who confront challenges in an informed, reflexive, and creative manner.The UPP provides institutions and practitioners with new knowledge frameworks that are supported by a cohesive set of skills. Our portfolio spans sectors, disciplines, and practise scales, and we aim to intervene at three levels: Strategic perspectives and orientation of the practitioner to urban challenges; Knowledge frameworks used to assess such challenges; Execution skills to address them effectively and sustainably. The International Water Management Institute is looking for a creative Spatial Data Scientist to work in its Addis Ababa, Ethiopia office.
Under the supervision of the Country Representative - Ethiopia, the Spatial Data Scientist will support research in the areas of collection, compilation, processing, evaluation, interpretation, generation, maintenance, and distribution of spatial information (including remotely sensed data and GIS information layers) relevant to the various research projects undertaken by the IWMI East Africa Office. Furthermore, the Expert will contribute to the development of an IWMI-wide expertise and datasets based on remote sensing. Programme Officer for Climate Change Programme Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is a public interest research and advocacy organisation based in New Delhi. CSE researches into, advocates for and communicates the urgency of development that is both sustainable and equitable.CSE’s Climate Change Programme is committed to championing the study of the most pressing issues related to the climate crisis, through the lens of equity and common but differentiated responsibility. CSE’s presence at UNFCCC proceedings such as COP summits and Subsidiary Body meetings, public outreach and advocacy, media engagement and training programmes are designed to create multipliers in society for climate action.

  Brackish Water Can be Used as Power Plant Coolant According to NETL, using brackish water to cool power plants can reduce freshwater consumption by 94% to 100%.
